A state school's catchment area is the geographical area from which the school must have its core intake of students. By default, catchment boundaries are determined using equidistance principles.

The Queensland Government Statistician's Office (QGSO) calculates the equal distance to and from the main entrances of neighbouring schools (using trafficable road networks by return journey).

In the case of the Foxwell State Secondary College, there has been some negotiated catchment boundaries to best meet the needs of the local community.

Please see our Catchment Area.
