Generation STEM

Generation STEM will engage students with advanced STEM education and promote the pursuit of STEM careers.

They will develop their skills through an inquiry-based learning approach, and will be provided with guidance, mentoring, inspiration and support from our partners including the Wonder of Science, based at the University of Queensland.

Students will have opportunities to engage in programs, challenges and competitions at a state, national and international level and engage with like-minded students across the world.​

Applications Open 

• ​Applications for our Programs of Excellence for 2025 are now open.  To submit your student's application, please complete our Enrolment Expression of Interest​​ and our Accademies of Excellence Application Form​​​​ as well as compile all supporting documentation as described in our Eligibility Criteria.
• Applications are to be submitted via email to enrolments@foxwellssc.eq.edu.au
• Payment of a $50 non-refundable application fee per program must be received by Foxwell State Secondary College upon submission of application.  

• All payments must be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

• Please note Foxwell State Secondary College Academies of Excellence are subject to additional levy fees upon commencement of the program. ​​ ​

​Applications Close

• Applications for our 2025​ Programs of Excellence First Round offers will abide by a strict closing date.  All First Round applications must be received by 3:00pm Tuesday 18 June 2024 (Week 10 Term 2).
• Second Round Applications, pending available program places, must be received by 3:00pm Tuesday 10 September 2024 (Week 10 Term 3)​.​
  

Eligibility criteria

• Very high+ results for Effort and Behaviour in previous school reports.
• Demonstrated interest or passion in the student's area of excellence   (demonstrated through their Student Statement).
• ​Recommendation from a teacher or coach detailing evidence of engagement in the student's chosen area of excellence.
• Participation in a compulsory workshop conducted at Foxwell State Secondary College (students who enrol mid-year will participate in alternate selection process determined upon application).​
• Payment of application fee.

Submission of application by the due date, along with completed Enrolment Expression of Interest.​​​
